This post represents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to join a team of staff in Keele University's Directorate of Research, Innovation & Engagement. The Directorate has a wide remit, including responsibility for delivery of efficient and streamlined processes for supporting research and innovation activities across the University.
Following
successful performance in REF 2014, Keele University is working towards delivery of an ambitious research strategy. To underpin this, the University has created a unified research support infrastructure to provide expert advice and assistance to academics and clinicians. A number of professional teams covering research and partnership development, operations, funding and project assurance work collaboratively to support the academic community in building the University's research portfolio and ensure projects are delivered successfully.
We are now seeking a Research Funding Assistant to join the University Research Funding & Systems Team. The role holder will support the Research Funding Coordinator by leading the Research Funding Team based in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences. They will be responsible for ensuring that research funding operates effectively and efficiently, and will act as a key point of contact for financial matters on projects from proposal to contract stage.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a research or finance administration role within the HE sector, and of costing research proposals and/or financial management of projects at the post award stage. An understanding of the external research funding environment, including relevant funding requirements and government legislation is also required.
