Fixed-term until 30th November 2018
Business Bridge is a new programme of business support offered by a partnership of Keele University and the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), due for launch in January 2017. It is designed to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) wanting to grow further or diversify into medical technologies and healthcare markets.
As Innovation Manager, you will be an integral member of the Business Bridge project team. Working closely with the Project Manager and under the supervision of project colleagues, you will help to broker and deliver innovation-led collaborations where SMEs work with the researchers and clinicians at UHNM and Keele University. You will enable key elements of the project including an Innovation Voucher programme, business support seminars, and a programme of work identifying unmet clinical needs (such as new medical devices). Acting as an ambassador for the project, you will help recruit suitable SMEs.
You will have a background in a relevant sector or discipline for a broadly defined MedTech/Healthcare market, such as life sciences or engineering. With proven success in partnership working and in handling several workstreams simultaneously, you will have a passion for developing new ideas and collaborations.
This role is primarily based at the Royal Stoke Hospital and there will be regular activity at Keele University. Business Bridge, and the Business Bridge Innovation Manager role, are part financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as part of the England 2014 to 2020 European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme.
