Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mental Health in Colombia (Fixed term for 30 months)
The successful candidate will contribute to an exciting ESRC funded project entitled A Participatory Psychosocial Care Approach to Mental Health in Colombia (PPC-Colombia). PPC-Colombia consortium comprises a multidisciplinary team of researchers (Social and Health Psychology. Sociology, and Political Science) who will collaborate to develop a sustainable therapeutic intervention model grounded in state-level, communal, and individual resources to provide mental health support to the victims of the Colombian Conflict.
You will be part of a team researching and designing participatory, community-based mental health interventions for the victims of the Colombian conflict, also contributing to the analysis and integration of several existing datasets. You will work closely with a wide range of project stakeholders including academic partners, NGOS, policymakers, and community groups in the Montes de Maria region and will disseminate the project findings through publications in high quality journals and conferences.
The successful candidate will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in an appropriate subject area such as social or clinical psychology along with experience of using mixed methods (multivariate statistics, Structural equation modelling, experimental designs, and qualitative methods).
This role could be undertaken remotely with meetings over the Internet if the circumstances require and there is the potential for part time working (0.5 FTE). Fluency in Spanish is desirable as the successful candidate will undertake substantial amount of fieldwork in Colombia and will communicate with the members of the Colombian team.
