This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a team of staff in the University's Directorate of Engagement & Partnerships, which supports the research and educational missions of Keele's academic faculties and enables a wide range of public and private sector organisations to work in partnership with the University.
The Directorate's Academic Legal Services Team is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Contracts Manager to lead the review of University contracts and to undertake the day-to-day management of its intellectual property (IP) portfolio.
Working with two qualified lawyers, you will liaise with academic and professional services colleagues to put in place contracts to support activity relating to the University's academic mission, including research and teaching collaborations, external service provision, commercial partnerships and IP commercialisation. You will be responsible for all aspects of contract development, from drafting, through to negotiation and final approval.
You will also oversee the maintenance the University's IP portfolio, which will include working closely with the University's patent agents.
You should have professional experience of drafting and negotiating legally robust contracts, along with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
