Mental Health Support Worker

Part-time 0.5 FTE
This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to join a team of staff in Keele University's Counselling and Mental Health Support Service. The Service is responsible for providing psychotherapeutic interventions and mental health support to a diverse student community.
The successful candidate will be experienced
in supporting and helping to manage those experiencing emotional distress and mental illness. They will ideally have experience of working with young adults with complex needs. A working knowledge of statutory and non-statutory mental health services and of educational settings would also be of benefit.
A key aspect of the role will be to offer reassuring support and guidance to our student and staff community alongside effective liaison and communication with external services.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team committed to raising awareness of and challenging stigma around mental health. They will be supported to become a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and will deliver effective Mental Health education and training to our students and staff.
