The Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine (ISTM) at Keele University is seeking to recruit a Research Associate to undertake research on the MRC funded Confidence in Concept programme. The aim of the project is to develop a xeno-free technique for human pluripotent stem cell expansion, differentiation and implantation towards
a therapeutic
product.
You will be required to develop, perform and take primary responsibility for research in the MRC project under the guidance of the Principle Investigators and will work in collaboration with our industrial partner and key researchers in the regenerative medicine group of ISTM. The project will involve research into new approaches to produce implantable products enabling using human mesenchymal and embryonic stem cells. The project will involve techniques in stem cell biology, biomaterial fabrication/modification.
You will be responsible for attending regular WEBEX and meetings when required and also being a key point of contact for the project. The project has defined deliverables and outcomes and you will be required for meeting these milestones and deliverables assigned to you in good time.
You will have a PhD with research background in any of the combining fields: stem cell biology; tissue engineering; nanomedicine and biomaterials or equivalent.
