Teaching Fellow in Early Modern History
Job details
Fixed term for 10 months
Keele University seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Early Modern History for a fixed term period of 10 months. We are seeking to appoint an individual with academic interests in the early modern period (c.1450-1750), with particular expertise in the history of one or more of the following: Britain and Ireland; Continental Europe;
or encounters between Europe (including Britain and Ireland) and the wider world. The successful candidate will be able to offer teaching on existing modules such as HIS-10030, Historical Research and Writing; HIS-10031, Princes and Peoples; HIS-20069, State and Empire and HIS-20067, Sources and Debates.
The successful candidate will have a Degree in History, or a cognate discipline and experience of teaching Early Modern History at an undergraduate level as well as being able to supervise undergraduate dissertations in History. A PhD in History or within 3 months of submission would be desirable.
There may also be opportunities to contribute to third-year BA teaching and to MA and MRes programmes. It is expected that you will commence in post from September 2017.
