We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy with proven expertise as a practising counsellor as well as experience of leading academic programmes in order to provide academic leadership to the delivery and ongoing development of the Counselling and Psychotherapy programmes at Keele University. The appointee will have extensive experience of developing high quality curricula and will make a significant contribution to the School’s strategic ambitions. They will take a key role in developing the subject area of Counselling and Psychotherapy, as well as new opportunities for multi professional collaborations across research and education. The post-holder will provide leadership in the development of our Counselling and Psychotherapy educational programmes and the development of a Counselling and Psychotherapy academic team, including the School’s professional Doctorate and developing CPD activities. They will also make a significant contribution to leadership within the School of Medicine.

The School of Medicine is one of four Schools in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences. The Faculty has a long tradition of providing professional programmes leading to registration with regulatory bodies whilst providing academic development to doctoral level. Keele has an unbroken record of providing counselling training since 1964, when it was one of the first universities in the UK to provide courses for school counsellors, and it enjoys an international reputation.
