An exciting opportunity for an experienced Technician has become available in the Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine (ISTM) at Keele University. ISTM has an international reputation in the field of Biomedical Engineering, and has achieved the highest quality ratings from the
UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) General Engineering panel over almost 20 years.
The successful candidate will support the research staff associated with the Guy Hilton Research Fund project on "Exploring the role of stem cell strategies for the treatment of chronic asthma", participating in routine laboratory experiments and providing technical and maintenance advice on equipment.
The applicant is anticipated to hold a minimum of an NVQ2 in a relevant subject and/or a minimum of 4 GSCE's (at grade C or higher) and/or relevant technical experience. Equivalent qualifications are acceptable. In addition to the specified qualifications the applicant is expected to have experience of working in a laboratory environment including reagent control, stock management, equipment maintenance, and independent working.
Please note this appointment is subject to medical clearance and ongoing medical surveillance by the University Occupational Health.
